Village of Maza - Chania, Crete

The small village Maza is located in the region of Apokoronas, in the prefecture of Chania (western part of Crete island). Maza lies at the foot of the mountains, and currently has a small number of permanent residents.

The village is quite centrally located when it concerns accessibility to various destinations. Its is about 35 km from the city center of Chania and 35 km from the city center of Rethymno. The nearest airport and port facilities are about 40 km from the Chania International Airport "Daskalogiannis" and about 30 km from the Souda port.

The next village closest to Maza is Vrisses, a well known traditional village - worth visiting. Of course, then there is Georgioupoli, which is about 6 km away and is also worth a visit during your stay in Chania. Some other areas of interest are Vamos (also the nearest health center) which is about 10 km away, and you mustn't miss the lake of "Kournas".
